Poem Bible Study

My first poem I want to share with you is When I look into your eyes, it's what Jesus sees when He looks into our eyes and sees  the good we are doing

So here goes

When I look into your eyes

When I look into your eyes

I see my precious child

When I look into your heart

I see the love you have for me

When I watch your hands and voice

I see my grace and mercy flow out

When I watch your feet move

I see an angel walking through this land

When I work through your eyes

I show you a need

When I work through your heart

I see your heart filled with compassion

When I work through your hands

I see the faith you have in Me

When I work through your feet

I see a companion walking beside a lonely friend

Now it is my pleasure to share with you a bible study written by a good friend of mine called Lynn Reichley

This poem tells us what God sees as Jesus works through us, on His behalf.

When He looks down on each of us His children as we share Jesus with a lost soul, who needs the love of Jesus. Are we all the same

No because Jesus blesses us with different gifts and talents. You see when we come to Christ everything God gives to Jesus is at our disposal. He gives us a treasure chest of good tools we can use for Gods glory

Let’s look through the poem that Julia wrote to see what God sees in our eyes and our hearts

Before we are able to share Jesus with anyone God will prepare our hearts with time spent in prayer for the lost soul. It may take more than one conversation, so when you go back and pray again for this person God will show you things through His eyes that will prepare you for the next meeting

So, verse one says

When I look into your eyes

I see my precious child

When I look into your heart

I see the love you have for me

When God looks down on His children, He sees the love we have for Him. We can tell Jesus we love Him all we want but the way He sees our love is by the acts of love we show to others. Have you heard about divine appointments? When we pray to, He will provide opportunities, it may be through a neighbour, co-worker, friend or at the school bus stop. So, keep your eyes and your hearts open

When I watch your hands and hear your voice

I see my grace and mercy flow out

When I see your feet move

I see an angel walking this land

As Jesus continues to watch, He sees our hands moving as we help other people, He sees us using His gifts of mercy and grace, why are grace and mercy so important. The divine appointment can be stressful for the lost soul and God doesn’t want it to feel worse, so He gives us grace and mercy to show this person how much He cares

Ephesians 2: 4   BY His great love for us God who is rich in mercy, made us alive in Christ when we were dead in our transgressions. It is by grace you are saved

When I work through your eyes

I show you a need

When I work through your heart

I see your heart filled with compassion

Have you ever seen a need in another’s person’s life, through their eyes God shows us their needs in the deepest part of your heart? We need to have a real desire to help them as God promises to give us the desires of our hearts,

 Psalm 37: 4

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your hearts

So as God gives us glimpses of someone’s life and need, God puts you into their lives because He knows He can meet the need through us  whether physical or spiritual, we can even enlist others if need be

When I work through your hands

I see the faith you have in Me

When I work through your feet

I see you sharing Jesus with the lost

When God looks and sees our generosity and our willingness to help, He rejoices because it starts and ends in the heart of Jesus, then to ours and finally to the heart of the lost. It is Gods actions through us we could serve this person in word and deed

2 Corinthians 9: 7

7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written:

“They have freely  scattered their gifts to the poor;
    their righteousness endures forever.” [a]

Closing thought

We may never know what happens to that person, but rest assured when we share Gods word it does what God sent it to achieve

Isaiah 55:11

so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

there are many good things,  that Jesus sees,  when he looks into our eyes and hearts

...For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Thought; Have you ever done something bad as a child or an adult where you think that God could not possibly love you and forgive you for that. It may be something you said to your parents or friends, or maybe you have done something bad as an adult like had an affair or hurt another person either mentally or physically. I want to tell you my friend right now that you can have peace with God, because Gods love is far deeper for us then we will ever know. God's love as it says in the bible covers a multitude of sin, Gods love surpasses anything we know or have ever known. Have faith my friend trust in the immeasurable love of God because no matter what we do or say Gods love is ever flowing into our lives and hearts and there it will remain forever we just need to tap in and receive it

 Psalm 145 v 3

The LORD is gracious and merciful; Slow to anger and great in lovingkindness. The LORD is good to all, and His mercies are over all His works. All Your works shall give thanks to You, O LORD, and Your godly ones shall bless You

God's mercy falls upon His children, we all fail and fall short of the mark but one thing we can be sure of His mercy is sure and even when we do things wrong God will never punish us to the extent of which we should be punished. He is slow to anger through Gods mercy we can be forgiven over and over again because Jesus died for us He paid for our sins. There is also the parable in Matthew 18:23—27. of the ruler who was owed some money and the servant came to Him and begged for mercy and he the master was merciful to him and gave him more time to pay, but then that person who had received mercy went out and did not show mercy to someone who owed him, we should learn from this and be merciful to others too

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully? Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Imagine if you had endless resources what would you do. Would you pour them out on other people or keep them to yourselves. Well our God has endless resources in heaven and he wants to bless us with them all we need to do is reach out our hands and ask He wants to fill you with love and joy and peace and strength. It doesn't mean that you will be rich and money will be rolling around freely but when you have a need which only God can fill He steps and touches our lives

EZEKIEL 34 v 15-16

"l will feed My flock and I will lead them to rest," declares the Lord GODI will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice.

When you have been ill or have had a very long day, or there are too many things to d or too many things on your mind we become weary and have to rest, so too in the spiritual things sometimes God will push us to the edge of breaking point to stretch us. God has promised never to give us more than we can take and if we look to Him in these times He will give us the strength to carry on. Also another good verse is Isaiah 40 v 29 He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power. We need to daily give our lives over to God so He can fill us with strength again. Sometimes we as humans need to take some time with God and seek His face because we are doing too much and new need to eut back therefor in the later verses it says 31 Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.

JOHN 9v 10- 12

"How then were your eyes opened?" they asked.

He replied, "The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see."

"Where is this man?" they asked him.

"l don't know," he said.

We all get times when we need healing when we have an illness but sometimes Jesus will come and heal our spiritual lives. Sometimes in life we go through very bad situations like losing a loved one or someone who we loved and trusted has abused us mentally or physically and at these times e build up walls of pain and mistrust and sometimes anger at God, but we have a loving God who sees our pain and wants to touch our lives with his love mercy and grace, and bring about healing that will bring us new life and hope. God will never force Himself on us to heal us He comes gently like a fluffy blanket and wraps His arms around us. Please if you are hurting today reach out and ask God to heal you

KINGS 6 v 17- 18

So he answered, "Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them. "Then Elisha prayed and said, "O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see." And the LORD opened the servant's eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. When they came down to him, Elisha prayedf                LORD and said, "Strike this people with blindness, I pray." So He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha

Sometimes in life we as Christians can come under spiritual attack and in the natural world things can look absolutely hopeless but just as Elisha prayed for his servants eyes to be opened, we need to ask God for the Holy spirit to open our eyes when we come under attack and we can see the attack for what it is, then we can fight in the spiritual world using the warfare that we have been taught and walk into the victory over every situation that is in the will of the father

So my friend I hope you have been encouraged by this post and I would encourage you that when a chorus comes into your mind that you meditate on it and see what wonderful truths it has in it and how many bible verses you can see running through it, be blessed in the Lord my friend
